KV
® In-LineTM Undermount Drawer Slide Set to Debut at K/BIS

Slide Design a Result of Collaboration with Cabinetmakers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., April 1, 2006 – Knape & Vogt (KV) Manufacturing Co. (Nasdaq: KNAP) is set to launch an undermount drawer slide resulting from a collaborative effort between the Company’s product-development team and cabinetmakers, installers and end users.

“After working with cabinetmakers in the field, we realized we had an opportunity to develop an undermount drawer slide that is completely in line with their needs and expectations,” said Bill Larsen, Knape & Vogt’s marketing manager.

The result is the KV In-Line Undermount, a slide designed for high-end kitchens and baths where fit, feel and function are valued, and silent, flawless drawer movement is expected.

During Knape & Vogt’s field research, cabinetmakers said they wanted an undermount slide that is easy to install and adjust. The KV product team responded by designing the In-Line as a true full-extension slide in all 10 lengths, complete with a removable dampener and with key features that meet existing industry configurations.

The hallmark of th
e KV In-Line is the combination of a self-close feature with a motion-dampening cylinder to effortlessly guide the drawer to a closed position.

“The soft-close dampener provides the necessary resistance to bring a drawer to a gentle, quiet stop, thus eliminating slamming,” Larsen said. “This technology will appeal to end users, who want their fine cabinetry to be seen and not heard.”

The KV In-Line’s bulk packagin
g includes the slides, front release levers, and rear brackets, making the product easy to order and inventory.

The In-Line officially launches at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (K/BIS), April 21-23, 2006, McCormick Place, Chicago. Visit Knape & Vogt’s Booth No. 6344 for a demonstration.

The In-Line will also be on display at the Knape & Vogt showroom – The KV Product Gallery – in Suite 128 of the Merchandise Mart in downtown Chicago.
