KV® Introduces Pocket Door Kit for Full Overlay Designs

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., October 7, 2005 — A design trend initiated by cabinetmakers has led to the development of a new product, the KV® 4 x 4 Pocket Door® Full Overlay Kit.

“This is the first full overlay kit of its kind designed for today’s large doors typically found on entertainment centers and similar cabinets,” said Bill Larsen, Marketing Manager for Knape & VogtTM Manufacturing Co. (Nasdaq: KNAP). “This product is a result of field research conducted with cabinetmakers and furniture manufacturers. It’s a direct response to their needs and recommendations.”

The KV Full Overlay Kit accommodates door dimensions up to 26 inches wide by 72 inches high. What makes the product so unique is that it’s the first of its kind for vertical doors weighing up to 75 pounds. Among its features is a self-closing three-way adjustable geometric door hinge with single lever disconnect feature. The Full Overlay Kit is for use with the KV 8091 Series Pivot Door Slide.

“The KV Full Overlay Kit’s rack-and-pinion construction creates perfect door travel without sag,” Larsen said. “It’s easy to install and incredibly stable. This product will become an industry standard.”

The Full Overlay Kit will be on display in KV’s booth (No. 901) at the Midwest Woodworking Expo, November 3-4, 2005, in Grand Rapids. The product is available through Knape & Vogt or KV distributors.
